ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Mr. French is a martial
artist, mechanical design engineer and entrepreneur. In 1982 he began
studying traditional Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate, and in 1985 earned his first
Black Belt from the Shobukan Goju-Ryu Karate-Do organization, led by the late
Masanobu Shinjo of Okinawa. In 1989 he founded Kobukan Martial Arts Academy
in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Since earning his first Black Belt in Goju-Ryu Karate, Mr. French
has had the opportunity to study several other arts, and in the year 2000 was
awarded the rank of 8th degree Black Belt.
